7 Things Your Cat Wants for the Holidays

With the holiday season in full swing, many people are picking out the perfect gifts for friends and family, and checking things off their shopping lists. Don’t forget about Fluffy! Our feline friends definitely deserve a special gift or two. In fact, there are a few things your pet will really enjoy. Read on as a Somerville, MA vet lists some great gifts for kitties.

Cat Tower

Kitties always appreciate having some things that are made just for them. Cat towers are great for Fluffy! Your feline buddy will gain a scratching post, jungle gym, napping spot, and kitty lookout point, all in one. If you don’t have the funds to buy your furball a new one, go the DIY route and make one. Look online for great ideas.

Mechanical Fish

One of the cutest modern toys we’ve seen are mechanical fish. These fun kitty playthings ‘swim’ in water, and are a great way to entertain your furry friend.

Robotic Mouse

Another good smart toy for Fluffy is a robotic mouse. Your feline pal’s ‘prey’ will respond to her voice and movements, providing interactive play and activities.

Catnip Bubbles

Quite a few of our feline patients will be getting catnip mice in their stockings this year. While these classic cat toys will always be popular with kitties, there are actually quite a few ways to give Fluffy her favorite plant. Offer her some catnip bubbles, or give her a small plant of live catnip.

Heated Bed

Cats love finding warm, comfy places to snuggle up in at naptime. A heated pet bed or kitty heating pad will definitely get your furball purring on cold days.

Window Seat

Making sure Fluffy always has entertainment options is very important. An easy way to do this is to just give your furry buddy a comfy spot in front of a window with a good view.

Kitties love being pampered, but they actually don’t have expensive tastes. In fact, plain cardboard boxes are one of Fluffy’s favorite things! When everyone has finished opening their gifts, give your frisky furball some of the empty boxes to play in.
